Yep. I loved them! One of my singing partners introduced me to their records some 45 years ago. We even went to see them perform at the Cellar Door in Washington, D.C. in the winter of 1964 (or perhaps early spring of '65 - I just remember that it was cold. I had, by then, already seen them once before at that same venue maybe a year or so prior to that. They were every bit as full of energy as they sound on their recordings. As I recall, they appeared with only a guitarist and a bass player. (I learned that the bass player was many years later a neighbor of Rick Fielding. See other thread about J&E.)

I recently purchased the compilation CD. While I think it captured much of the spirit of this fabulous duo, I was sad to note that some of my own favorite songs were not included among the selections. Funny, though, that you happen to mention them at this time. My former singing partner just four days ago mailed me a couple of CD's she had made of her Joe & Eddie albums! The songs I love best were included. A couple of them are: I Loved A Lass, and Make A Long Time Man Feel Bad.

Someone once said that he envied anyone who had the singular pleasure of reading "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" for the first time. I envy you for your recent discovery of this treasure. Getting to hear my friend's recordings for the past few days is almost like discovering Joe & Eddie all over again!
