ELLA!!!
What a coinsidence. Just yeasterday, as my wife and I walked home from my gig, we were speaking about a Sean Nos dancer from Conemara, from way out by ... oh I am blanking on the place, near Kilkirin, where Tach Firbo is... anyway, he was with a seamsa in NY about 15 years ago. He was taught by the uncle of my friend Trasa O'Carrol ni Ne, who is currently living back in Connemara, and if you are out that way and ask around at Te Vac (sorry for the spelling Bhac?) they might know how to get in touch with her, or at Telivision na Gaeltacht, Greg Brennan may be in touch with her. BUT she would know the best person to learn from. If you want to drop me an email, I can call her sister and get her address from you.
BUT Just last night I was saying I wanted to contact Trasa to learn some Sean nos dancing, as it would be very cool to drop the old Uilleann pipes in the middle of a hot set, and do a bit of the dancing. I do some step dancing, but, well... river dance put me off the whole thing, kinda spoilt it, when folks compair your dancing to that regimented scarrry performance they all do... some like it I suppose, but well... give me Sean nos and REAL step dancing like in the Ceili's out west, eh?
Slan agut,
Is mise le meas,
Larry
