Goldenseal root in liquid or powder form will kill bacteria. I recommend that if going to a doctor isn't possible. Most health food stores have it and it can probably be found in the health supplements sections of many grocery and drug stores. It needs to be taken with food or it will irritate the stomach and cause nausea. It would also be good to take some form of friendly bacteria like yogurt or acidophilus supplements to replace the friendly bacteria in the gut after the goldenseal kills it off.
