Subject: RE: No Hawaii hurricane this time around
OK, folks, the whole state is in the clear as of yesterday afternoon. Apparently Dan'l picked up some strength, even came close to being a hurricane again, and that was good news, because it pulled him north of the islands. Those of you who are meteorologists may be able to explain that, because I sure can't. Maui County (islands of Maui, Moloka'i and Lana'i) closed their schools yesterday (7/31) but they just got a little rain. Sadly, old Dan isn't even going to help out with our drought, just a few showers here and there. So now we'll just have to go back to watching the volcano erupt. Thanks for the good wishes, everybody. And let's all pray that Mbo and his friends in North Carolina and environs don't get hit with a repeat of last year's terrible hurricanes.

Aloha,
Mark
