Well if anyone wants a crash course on hurricanes they should read the book I am halfway through right now called Isaac's Storm by Erik Larson.
It is about a hurricane that hits Galveston, Texas at the turn of the last century. The author goes into detail about the history of meteorology and gives a good explanation of how hurricanes are formed and tracked.
I highly recommend this book unless you suspect a hurricane maybe coming to your town. Then I am not sure if I would read this book.
