Yes indeed. I am a very meticulous lyricist. I also take my songs to critique sessions on a regular basis, to see how they're received and interpreted by listeners before the songs are sung at gigs. Sometimes my critiquing friends offer constructive suggestions, but more often than not they "get" the message of the song and have nothing to suggest, which leaves me a bit frustrated when the song still doesn't quite come up to MY standards!
