In the US we have fire areas, flood areas, coastal Hurricane areas, landslide areas, etc...ALL of which should be under tight regulation about both where to build and types of buildings. (Tornado areas are almost impossible to legislate about...people do have to farm and live there.)

Fire is hard to deal with, as Rapaire points out, as enough prolonged heat can make almost any building unlivable. I suppose with all those features, he will be reasonably protected against all but the worst.
