I think the Ellen's pub you are referring to was a bit north of Sligo town - out near Lisadell (as in the tune "The Humours of Lisadell". Last time I was there (a couple of years ago) it had changed hands and the music was gone. There used to be a very good session in the pub Stone the Crows (various members of Dervish were there the last time I was in). Further north, the Ship in Killybegs, Donegal has some great music (it's run by Martin McGinley - the ex-Dervish fiddler).
