Having grown up around my fair share of alcoholics, I can usually tell from looking at the eyes if someone has had/does have an issue with alcohol. I've never heard the term before but it makes sense. I don't know if it's common to be able to *see* this as both my husband and I are able to tell. Other family members, however, don't see it as readily.
