Some people vent by screaming. I tend to vent by waxing philosophical toward the object of my discontent. It's kinda like planting a seed and churning the manure until some flowers grow. My kids absolutely hate it. They'd rather have me yell at them than philosophize at them any day. And they think I don't realize that. . .

Just an thought, but what would be more frustrating for someone who is trying to provoke anger than to be greeted with sympathy?
