I once tried that theory out on my son who was prone to tantrums. With great difficulty, I QUIETLY explained my position and ignored his mouth. Finally, in total frustration at not getting a rise out of me, he angrily shouted "You're not getting angry just to get me angry." I think the answer was yes.
