The Cardinals which hang around our property are very well aware of us and are becoming braver and braver. When I hear the male in a distance I can make the same call (whistle) and after 4 or 5 times I will have the male circling around me about 30/40 feet away. I don't think that I am alarming them. Quit often they don't even know that I am observing their movements.
Janie, great observation.But no. The same occurs at the front,side and back of the house.
