It's interesting how precisely and properly Jimmie pronounces the words; "going to," not "gonna"; "roaming," not "roamin'.    (He does sing "wanta," not "want to," though.) Nowadays people singing "country" or "blues" or a lot of "folk" (even pop and rock) seem to make a point of dropping a final "g" and so forth, and even lyric transcriptions and often song titles are written that way (e.g., "Do You Wanna Dance?").   Jimmie Rodgers didn't have to be deliberately sloppy to sound authentically country or folky.
