I decided to make a homemade version of jalopeno poppers the other night - using the jalopeno peppers (I have a lot!) from the garden. Turned out great. Cut a strip off the side of the pepper to make it like a 'canoe', get rid of the seeds and stem, and stuff with a mixture of grated cheddar and cream cheese, along with whatever spices you want (I used cumin, garlic and parsley). Dip in beaten egg, roll in breadcrumbs and put on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for a half hour. They were really good!
