Re the "F word" in songs.

Last year we moved from Leicester to a village a few miles outside of the city, and were pleased to see we had a good local pub.

Once a month on a Wednesday they have an open mike night which is mainly young hopeful bands. We learned that punk is back in a big way. A lad got up and the first think we noticed was that the crotch of his trousers was well below his knees.

He introduced his song with shouting "ONE, TWO F***K YOU" - apparently this is the standard introduction to a punk song, a bit like "As I roved out one May morning" -the rest of the lyrics were inaudible as his guitar was switched up to max distortion, and we didn't know "how would you like us to f**k off?" . It doesn't really bother me that much, though.

On the subject of the trousers, I saw a lad in town walking along with one hand around his girlfriend and the other holding up his trousers. What would he do if he wanted to send a text?

But back to the song, I liked it, obviously a bit tongue in cheek, but as you were talking about in your workshop, George, a bit of a lack of structure, but a lot of modern material seems to be like this. Well worth a view though, and she's got a good range on her voice.
