Having just acquired a mandolin I am keen to join in sessions. I understand there is a weekly session (1st hour for beginners) at the United Brethren in Chelmsford, Essex.

Could be useful to start a permathread here on Mudcat about this? Would be wonderful to find out about and attend sessions in other parts of the country when holidaying or travelling on business, whatever.

As a newbie, I will be watching this thread with interest. May I ask, are there any good DVDs to help the practising along? And which tune book and which tunes specifically should I start with?
