Maryann, I wanted to comment on your state fair trip. I have a friend who has entered preserves for years and in the last two has won several blue ribbons and some ribbons for runners up. I always thought that looked like a lot of fun when I was a kid, but I've never competed. I wonder, with the economy constricting the way it is, if those home arts might enjoy a resurgence? This year I'll probably actually go to the State Fair of Texas--I hate to drive over there, I hate to pay to park, I hate to be tired and have to drive home again. But now the commuter line finally will go over to the fair, starting in a couple of weeks. I'll be on it! I can take a train from downtown Fort Worth and step across the track in Dallas to take the new line out to Fair Park. My kids have been over there many times on field trips, but I haven't. So I'm looking forward to it!

Meanwhile, I think the ragweed is out. I'm decluttering my nose with sneezing. Bleh.
