Thread Name: Lyr/Chords Req: I'm Going Home Again (Allan Taylor
Subject: RE: I'm Going Home Again, Lyrics & Chords
This is a bluegrass song, so it might not be the one you want, but—
I'M GOING HOME AGAIN recorded by Longview on their album "High Lonesome" (Rounder, 1999). It was written by Kenny Sloas, Johnny Sloas, and Dave Sloas, who were members of another group called the Sloas Brothers. Here's an excerpt, transcribed from a sound sample:
Left my home back in the mountains
This old world to ramble round.
Now my ramblin' days are over.
[I'll] go home and settle down.
I can hear the whistle blowin'.
Lord, it's comin' round the bend,
Makin' ninety miles an hour....
Also, I've found 2 songs by Allan Taylor that have somewhat similar-sounding titles:
BACK AGAIN, from "The American Album/Cajun Moon" (2 LPs reissued as 1 CD, 2000) and "Colour to the Moon" (2001):
...Well, I couldn't think of what to say. I wished I'd planned ahead.
All the things that burned inside would have to go unsaid.
And you ask if I've been travelling, lately where I've been.
Well, lately I've been nowhere, 'cause I want you back again....
BACK HOME TO YOU, from "Leaving at Dawn":
...I wouldn't know what to say,
And I've got to get back home to you, sweet love.
I've got to get back home to you.
When the music plays(?)....
