That E.B. guy in the post above is our son, Chris, who worked on the Julia Belle Swain for several summers when he was in high school and college. I was the music and tall tale teller on both the riverboats JBS and the Twilight back in those other times. What better way for a dad to keep watch his kid -- both of us working together like in more rural times when families worked together on the farm. That's how the knowledge got passed from one generation to the next. What better way for him to learn my jokes? It was a grand ten years of life on the Mississippi for me. ---- Now, in these weird times, Chris is a great friend of mine -- as well as being our son. He and Kat keep on making grand-kids for Carol and I to love. Another is on the way as we speak. --- And the story Chris wrote, and linked to, is for real; that's just about how it went down.

It's great, for sure, to see the next generation posting at Mudcat.
