For those in the San Francisco Bay Area next week: Berkeley Old Time Music Convention Wed. Sept. 9 through Sun. Sept. 13 Concerts, square dances, string band contest, film showing, workshops, activities for kids, jamming, etc. etc. Locations all over Berkeley including Freight & Salvage, Ashkenaz, Civic Center Park/Farmers Market, Pacific Film Archive, Jazzschool, Jupiter, Main Branch Library,etc. With: Alice Gerrard, Benton Flippen, Paul Brown, Mostly Mountain Boys, Elizabeth & Sandy LaPrelle, Rodney & Clay Sutton, Eric & Suzy Thompson, Black Crown String Band, Knuckle Knockers, Mt. Diablo String Band, and more!
Instructional workshops (aka master classes) in fiddle, banjo, guitar, vocals, clogging, square dance calling -- advance registration is advised for these!
