I've taken an old chair apart - I had tried to give it away to an upholstery class, but without luck. It was a gift from a friend when I was starting out, and I had to throw its partner away a few years ago when it broke. When I got the sitting part out, I could see the frame (teak) would work as the frame of a low sling type chair if I put in a canvas base, and a cushion over the top. The canvas would cost about £30, and a cushion as much again, but I remembered the old eiderdowns at Dad's, and will use one of those.

Middle of chair to dump, with old door knocker, biscuit tin, and assorted junk. Bin men collected paper etc.

I fitted new brass flap to door, plus pull handle.
