Love them every day you have them, so there are no regrets about not spending enough quality time or going for walks or whatever. It sounds like you can truly say that your dog led a well-lived life. That's what counts, a consolation as you adjust to her absence.

We lost a beloved cat earlier this year; she died of something we couldn't treat, and died way too young. We mourn for all of the lost purrs and cuddles we should have had with that silly cat.
