Dent Folk Festival presents three superb folk acts this autumn as part of The Old Laundry's theatre Season.

Spiers and Boden ~ Sunday the 20th September

Described by The Guardian as "The finest instrumental duo on the traditional scene" and twice winners of the BBC Radio 2 folk award for Best Duo, John Spiers and Jon Boden have made the genre of spontaneous, punky English folk very much their own stomping ground.

Loud, proud, and with just a few acoustic instruments, they create a multitude of textures upon which they present traditional stories and dance music which are as much at home on the main stage of Cambridge Folk Festival as they are in a lock-in at the local pub!

Rory Mcleod ~ Friday 30th October

Rory Mcleod - ex-circus clown and fire eater. A one man soulband, poet and storyteller, singing his own unique upbeat dance stories. A modern travelling troubadour using tap shoes, acappella, harmonica, guitar, trombone, spoons, finger cymbals, bandorea, djembe and various percussion instruments!

Rory has travelled the globe for different reasons at different times, from Asia to the middle East from Gambia to Cuba, Central America, Australia, North America, Canada, Europe and other nooks and crannies of the earth.

The Michael McGoldrick Quartet ~ Friday 13th November

Michael McGoldrick is widely acknowledged as one of the finest traditional Irish musicians on the planet. His Flute, Uillean Piping and whistle playing is simply breath taking and his concerts are a very uplifting experience!

Born in Manchester to Irish parents, Michael has led a trailblazing career from forming influential folk rock band 'Toss The Feather' whilst still at School to joining Scots Super group Capercaillie. Along the way he has found time to form the highly acclaimed bands 'Flook and Lunasa' as well as playing with musicians as diverse as Kate Rusby, John Cale, Ornette Coleman and Youssou N'Dour!

Full details and tickets for these concerts are available on-line at The Old Laundry's website, www.oldlaundrytheatre.co.uk or by calling The Old Laundry box office on 015394 88444
