The Spinners club was indeed in Samson and Barlows in the early 1960s, as was the Calton Club. They both moved to Gregsons Well in the mid-late 60s, sometime after 1965 anyway, possibly when S&B closed down.

I never realised that Rosie was your sister, we met at Whitby this year at the Traditional Night Out and exchanged some dancing steps in the interval. What about Ted Owens in the Green Moose, anyone know where he is? Last I heard he was warden of a youth hostel on the Isle of Skye"
