Li'l ol' cynical me loves "I Can't Make You Love Me," which I first heard from this group in that quirky little love story "Boxing Helena". Here's Bonnie Raitt singing it (with Bruce Hornsby on KB, I believe). There's something about popping a CD in your car and belting this out at the top of your lungs that just makes you feel better. At least until you realize your windows are down and your stopped at an intersection.

When I'm not being cynical, I like Dave Carter's "Lancelot". No Dave Carter, but here's a version I found (some changes to the lyrics and tune). I mostly think that to listen to the smitten variety of love songs, you either have to be in love or masochistic.
