As an African American who has long been interested in learning more about traditional West African cultures, and who has for 30 years and counting been a free lance "African storyteller", I'm gratefult to have happened upon "The Devil's Colors: A Comparative Study of French and Nigerian Folktales". That heavily footnoted article, written by Françoise Ugochukwu, an Igbo (Nigeria, West Africa), is included in a journal called Oral Tradition, 21/2 (2006): 250-268.
