Still the same. Still miserable. Got the cards, but not quite ready to focus on them; Karen said there were bunches and "Thank You!"

Actually, his fever has come down to 99. They have had him sitting up and on the BiPap. They took him down for a cat scan this afternoon to look at his lungs. He is on anti-flu and anti-biotic meds.

Karen is having a bit of a time with the whole feeling at the hospital this time. They've always been very supportive, "warm and fuzzy" is how she put it. This time, they are rather perfunctory. She thinks it is because the hospital is going through some tough patches and personnel are concerned about their jobs, but that is no excuse.

Even knowing she works there, they have been very strict. They won't let her slip up on her breaks to see him because it wouldn't be visiting hours, so she has to stay up when she gets off work in the early AM, go get Tris and take him to school, go back to visit with Pat during reg. visiting hours, THEN go home and try to get some sleep, then get Tris, take the boys up to see Pat, then go to work after dropping them off with friends.

She has been cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, etc. She is sure he will make it through this; just be a long haul. Still there is the anxiety which comes with waiting for the treatments to show more improvement. When he is coherent, he is damn tired of it, too. In a lot of pain from not moving around much. She is going to see if she can get someone like my osteopath who does soft tissue manipulation to help with that.

I am optimistic, but don't feel very p/phunny about this right now, so, I'll say,

I am giving thanks for a swift and complete recovery for my dear friend, Pat. May he return home in good health and spirits. I give thanks for this or something better for the highest good of all concerned. So mote it be!
