Can you give the number associated with the waiting update - KB.... Then we can look and see what it is and if there are any known problems with installing it.

The fact that updates failed at some point doesn't mean they didn't get installed later - you can check that in your history. The fact you're using IE7 suggests that the IE7 install failure was later fixed. It may be true with the .NET Framework (although in my case a failed install of one .NET Framework didn't cause me any problems until a later version tried to install and kept failing. I had to remove all the .NET installs and reinstall all of them).

But let's see what your waiting update is first.
