My fault. Well, actually it's your fault. Here's how it is. Mudcat is, what, 13 years old now? At last check, we're well over 3 million messages in almost 100,000 threads. Add to that the Digitrad, PMs, links, etc and so on, and essentially, we're bloated. That's not a real problem normally. But in reaction to the super search not functioning properly and another weird issue involving the file size of all this data, it takes a LOOOOONG time to do things, even with fast computers and big bandwidth. So every time I try to solve a problem, make an adjustment or improvement, this kind of thing happens. Some sites would just go offline for a spell, but frankly, I'm scared that mudcatters will start showing up at my door. And since I now live in the woods, I keep a shotgun by the door and expect only the postman, the UPS man and the Fedex Lady. Anyone else definitely at least gets aimed at.

Also, other sites have the luxury of downtimes such as 3am EST because their users are asleep. Due to the global nature of mudcat, there is no downtime. As one group lays down, another is burning the toast.

Make sense?
