Thread Name: Origins: Crawdad Song
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Crawdad Song
Tell you what micheal, send me a email with your snail mail address to redridge2@webtv.net and l'll send you one of my CD's with music from the 50's & 60's... The Crawdad Song has been good to me and got me in the Rockabilly, Tradional country and Iowa Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame... Of course this is all 40 & 50 years after the fact :-) My Crawdad Song was realy big and widespread over seas, they really seem to like our OLD music over there, I still get hundreds of emails about the song... If you should happen to run across my record of the Crawdad Song and can get it for a SONG grab it up, it's worth a thousand bucks on the collector market... One sold on ebay for eight hundred several years ago and I seen two go for
a hundred and fifty and they were broken or cracked... One guy told me he got one at a yard sale for ten bucks and one from an old record shop for fifty but they are rare... I got me a six inch pewter Crawdad mounted on my old 1956 Gibson guitar that has played that song several thousand times... Funny how what you do when you was young can come back around and reward you more fifty years later than it did at the start? Red
