When I was in college I was riding downtown on my 10-speed, equipped with toe clips and straps. Ignoring the fact that I was riding in town, I had tightened up on my straps. I rolled up to a stop sign and only then realized I couldn't get my feet off the pedals. I felt like Arte Johnson on a bike. No damage done, fortunately, to anything except my ego.
