Kat, interesting you're talking about putting the computer in the dining room. I've been looking at the rooms as I'm using them and wondering if I want to move their functions. I am thinking about the space on the other side of the big kitchen counter, that has been used as a dining room. I'm tempted to turn it into more of a space where my son's computer and comfortable lamps and chairs could be, and putting the dining room stuff in the next room over, the den (it's like we have two living rooms here) on one end of the room. The two are connected, there is a step down into the den. But it might be a way to give the dining room table an easy way to be expanded if we have company, but putting it in the larger room where this is an easy task.

It's a thought.
