Btw - re old PCs...

Old 2nd hand PCs are now 'dead' in Australia - Lifeline was served with a notice that 'anything they sell that plugs in to the mains needs an Electrical Safety Certificate' - this includes PCs & double insulated low voltage wall warts!

This is of course really an extortion racket by the Union (an I'm a Union Man!) for 'Electricians' (and who are reknowned for refusing to allow new people to join!) who have got dumb pollies on side. If an item is SAFE to sell and keep using for years, why does it need to be 'recertified' a couple of years later?
