Are you sure Vista is the problem .... this could be an issue with your 'machine'

What make of PC do you have?

The reason I ask is that I have been using Vista for 2 years now ... I actually like it ... but I was introduced to Vista when it came as the operating system for my new laptop ... an HP .... the machine (motherboard) died 14 months ... 2 months past it's warranty ... what you are explaining sounds somewhat familiar to what I experienced ... apparently I'm not the only one who had issues with HP laptops from that era ... it was quite common.

Regardless I'll never purchase another HP.
