Indian restaurants used to serve a dish called Murgh Massalam, pieces of chicken in a red tomato sauce with fragrant spices, notably cardamom.
An essentially similar, though usually blander, dish has been given an anglicised name ( Murgh=chicken),had the irrelevant description 'Tikka added, and been heavily promoted.
