Well, we had a very conscientious and productive Getaway collecting, comparing and analyzing the provenance of rare ballads and other forms of ethnic musical expression. We attended numerous presentations and some quite intense informal peer-group discussions. All in all I think it was highly productive. I was very impressed with the vocal clarity of My Guru Always Said (who is Hils)) from England. Gordon Bok ran a nice workshop on certain ethnomusicological artefact as relating to the Mongolian Hill Tribe culture. Barry Finn presented on the idiosyncratic linguistic convention of Anglo-Saxon maritime tradition. Lonesome E.J. wailed on the harp and got skunked on sipping whiskey. One of the more remarkable aspects of t6his year's ethnomusicological convention (colloquially refered top as the Getaway) was the highly affect-inducing abundance of pulchritude which was supplied by Janie, Dani, KT, M-G-A-S, ClaireBear, Jacquie, Tink and a wide selection of other scholarly oviductarians. I believe even Kendall was finally forced to acknowledge the net yield of pulchritude for the year was well above averages for all known past Getaway conventions.
