I find it hard to resist mentioning though, just in passing, that Canada spends only 10% of its yearly budget on providing universal single payer health care for ALL our citizens...while the USA spends 17% of its yearly budget providing a hodge podge of public and private health care for some of its citizens...but not for all of them by any means. Americans also pay more per capita for government health care...a LOT more...than Canadians do.

The money is clearly being spent far less efficiently in the USA, and with far less effect...and one wonders who benefits from such an arrangement? Certainly the general public does not! I'd be guessing that some rich private entities such as health insurance companies and Big Pharma benefit from it. What's your guess?
