I've just listened to the Percy Grainger link - how wonderful to hear the song as I've not heard a recording before.

Linda Kelly and I recorded Shallow Brown, linked with 'Oh Mary', in 2006 on our Sweet Minerva CD.... though the words we use must have evolved like 'chinese whispers' or gone through the 'folk process'.

Another recording was made in Hull in 2006 on a CD 'Songs of Slavery' Part of the Wilberforce 2007 Celebrations.
