Thread Name: Lyr Add: Limbo Ships (Tom Bryan, Jim Hunter)
Subject: Lyr Add: Jim Hunter's 'Limbo Ships'
Lyrics (as best as I can hear them; (?) where I was uncertain)
for Limbo Ships, by Jim Hunter & Tom Bryan,
off of Temple Records - A 25 Year Legacy.
Transcribed by Jesse Weinstein, Oct 12, 2009

Black ship out on a dark sea side
there's death on the old wheel (?) road,
the mirian (?) freighter, with no port-of-call
and a cargo no boat should hold.

CHORUS:
Limbo ships -- out on the water;
Round and round, trying to lose their load,
Limbo ships -- out on the ocean;
Gone four corners, all around the globe.

Ghost men numb (?) trace bank accounts,
dealing international gold.
A skeleton crew on a rustin' hulk,
flushin' (?) down in the hold.

CHORUS

Limbo ship can't come ashore,
banker down in the (?) plunger (?) sun
moon (?) splash (?) cape (?) to the arctic ice
the barge (?) is never done

CHORUS

Toxin in transit, a corner on the market
Quietly bought and sold.
The one world (?) know it,
might never come ashore,
they (?) come back (?) with an empty hold.

CHORUS

CHORUS

Hey!

Limbo ships.

Limbo ships.

[getting quieter and quieter]

Limbo ships.

Limbo ships.

Limbo ships.

Limbo ships.

It has a haunting and agressive guitar part -- and I'm curious about the meaning of the lyrics. What are these "limbo ships" to which he refers? How did he hear of them?
