Tune: after traditional "Jay Gould's Daughter"

Is that the Moon I See?

On a Monday morning it was drizzling rain.
From the Bremen platform chugged a passenger train.
Left on the platform was a pissed Fritz von Huhn.
He was a journalism student, but he just had to moon.
He had to moon,
He had to moon,
He was a journalism student, but he just had to moon!

He pulled down his trousers with great dispatch
Backed up to the train but never looked back
His trousers got caught in the train carriage door,
"This is such a drag," that student swore,
This is such a drag,
This is such a drag,
"This is such a drag," that student swore!

Now Franz Schneider was a good engineer
Told his trusty fireman never to fear
Pour on your water, boys, and shovel on your coal
Stick your head out the window, watch that mooner roll
Watch that mooner roll,
Watch that mooner roll,
Stick your head out the window, watch that mooner roll!

"Now this doesn't look good," Fritz was forced to concede,
Dragging two hundred metres as the train picked up speed;
But his ordeal was over with a final bump and shake,
When a merciful passenger pulled the emergency brake,
Pulled the emergency brake,
Pulled the emergency brake,
When a merciful passenger pulled the emergency brake!

So the Rescue folks patched up all his cuts and bruises
But the Bremen Police refused to accept his excuses;
You can moon on the street and you can moon on the trail
But they'll ticket your ass if you moon on the Rail,
Moon on the Rail,
Moon on the Rail,
They'll ticket your ass if you moon on the Rail!

Cheerily,
Charley Ignoble
