One Lung = One Piston and one cylinder

Make and break because of the electronics. As the mag spins behind the flywheel the contacts come around and makes a circuit when the correct contacts meet. Then as it turns past the contact breaks. The Make is timed to fire the spark plug at the correct point in compression on the piston, just after it as reached top dead center on the crank shafts rotation.

At least this is how the Universal worked.
