For the life of me, I can not imagine how, in "32-20" some people endlessly, and irritatingly, insist that Robert Johnson sings "I got a 32-20, got to make the camps alright." Or, even more hilarious: "...I got to make the cats all right."
For the Lord's sake, people, this travesty has been perpetrated long enough, since sam Charters transcriptions of the Johnson lyrics in the mid '60's (not to mention others, too silly to be believed.)
The word is "caps" - CAPS: it means bullets.
Jeeziz - don't any of you listen to Hip Hop? don't you actually ever talk to African Americans? Have you never been to the American South?
Please: no more camps, or cats, or whatever - its caps. It's a metaphorical sexual reference ... or do I have to spell it out for you? Pistols? Bullets? Get it? Forgive me, but I could no longer let this misapprehension continue.
