On Saturday 31st. October we have a Halloween evening at the Lewes Saturday Folk Club . The fire will be lit in the club-room fireplace and we're bringing a dozen candles, so that for at least part of the evening the light will be from the fire and candles alone.

I'll be making soul cakes to a traditional recipe.

One song I definitely want to sing is the Child ballad Young Benjie, which has a bit of genuine necromancy in it.
