MMario, are you sure about the 486? I know of people who have managed to listen using one but I wasn't aware that anyone succeded in sending sound out with one. If my memory is correct, Capt Bob did try once but the sound kept breaking up.

I am not sure what you will get away with using a PC of lower spec but assuming you meet the other requiremets, the best plan is to go over to hearme and see what happens. This will involve a small download for the required plugin.
