That would suggest that there was no hell before 1954?

My view of hell would be a little like the following - I reckon everyone would play very slightly out of tune with each other and very slightly out of time with each other. Devastatingly frustrating. Each would then play slightly louder in order to be heard above the cacophany of chaos.
