Thread Name: Obit: Mudcatter---Metchosin (October 16, 2008)
Subject: Obit: Mudcatter---Metchosin
Sometimes 'a 'Catter, even a very active one, can drift away sometimes taking a break or cutting back on the time spent here. We've had many disappear for a few years like Banjo Bonnie or Cuillion or CamiSu and then come back for awhile regularly or just to say "Hi." Kat started a thread hoping to snag a few passing by who have just been lurking which also happens. Sadly, there is also another option...................

Metchosin (Susan Grieve) died in October of last year from leukemia which she had been fighting. Although she did share that with some of us, it wasn't generally known as was her wish. Her husband was good enough to respond to an e-mail from kat the other day.

Mets was a great 'Catter. She could be counted on to show up in all types of threads with good info or great stories or funny and often biting humor for which I loved her. She also had a special feel for her animals and that too endeared her to many another 'Catter. She had great artistic talent and excellent musical knowledge.......All these things made her a natural for the 'Cat.......and she was.

I'd love to say something else but her sister wrote a great obit that says so much............

"GRIEVE, Susan Jacqueline September 3, 1946 - October 16, 2008 Peacefully at home in the company of her loving husband, Jim, and her two terriers, Maddy and Duff. Sue leaves her husband, Jim Grieve; her two daughters, Devon Grieve (Mike Rheault), and Ceilidh Clausen (Rolf); brother, Russ Godfrey (Irene); nephews, Nick, and Ben Godfrey; her horse buddy, Sailor; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Sue was a feisty, larger than life person who loved life and was intensely curious about "everything" and about which she would freely express her opinion. She deeply loved her family, friends, nature, animals, music, single malt, and her home. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her musical family and a devoted fan and supporter of their music. Sue was always cheerful (mostly), and dauntless in adversity, and faced her final challenging months with unflagging courage and optimism. We deeply miss you, Suze! Your enthusiasm and humour was contagious and you were the coolest sister ever! There is no service but a celebration of Sue's life will take place in the future. Family and friends will be notified. Donations may be made in Sue's name to the Canadian Cancer Society."

If you wish to read any of Mets' almost 5500 posts, CLICK HERE   But for just a taste of her flavor, her last post only a month before her passing was on a thread asking "What does Sarah Palin remind you of"........She answered, "Rambo Barbie."..

.........yeah..........we're gonna' miss you Mets............
