I think Garth Brooks should be burned for sacrilige. Over 50 years ago, I heard Carl Sandburg sing the world's shortest blues lyric:

Papa loved Mama; Mama loved men;
Mama's in the graveyard; Papa's in the pen.

Brooks stuck that in as part of the chorus of a full length song; I doubt if more than a tiny fraction of those who hear it have any idea where he got it, and he ruined the whole point of it.
