I'm saddened to learn that the Hesper and Luther Little were subjected to that indignity. I remember them fondly from more than 25 years ago.

Seems that historic preservation is now largely extinct in the U.S. due to budget cuts in the name of "cutting taxes" whatever the ultimate cost. Same could be said for the arts in general. And education.
