I mostly keep out of Mudcat, but look in now and again to see what I've been missing. The discussion about music and performers is usually well worthwhile, but I usually make a point of avoiding these debating threads, especially the self-regarding ones, but I thought I'd look at this one. I found the usual mixture of great good sense and infantile fatuosity. Sadly, also a load of silliness about / from Scots. I've never seen this sort of thing about Irish speech, and wonder how Scots attracts it. But don't post any answer to me here, I won't be looking in here again, thanks.
