If the person were selling the recording, I'd want them to ask my permission and to give me a share of the proceeds if anything came of it. But since this wasn't a solo performance and there's no profit involved, I see no need for permission. You might want to drop a note, say hello, and express thanks for giving you a bit of publicity. THAT would be courtesy - to acknowledge that the other person meant you no harm, and to be gracious about it.
Miss Manners would say that courtesy is something that you show to other people, not something you expect to receive.
